Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today reiterated that there is no scarcity of fertilizer in the State, hence the farmers will not face any problem.
Briefing the media after the Agriculture Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Agriculture Secretary Saurabh Garg said that there is no shortage of fertilizer in the State.
Around 6.66 lakh MT of fertilizers have been lifted in 2020 compared to 5.56 lakh MT in 2019 and 6.15 lakh MT in 2018, he said.
The Agriculture Cabinet has approved a proposal to ensure adequate supply of urea to the farmers.
He further said that Odisha has so far disbursed Rs 9965 crore input crop loan in 2020. Even though, the last date to avail Kharif crop loan is September 3, the farmers can still avail the benefit this month by visiting nearby banks.
More than 55 lakh eligible farmers will get KALIA assistance soon, he added.
