Sambalpur: Sambalpur is slowly limping back to normalcy as there have been no reports of any untoward incidents since yesterday morning. The district administration today relaxed curfew conditions to facilitate the candidates to appear for examinations. People were also seen coming out to make necessary purchases during the relaxation hours.
The Sambalpur police has arrested another 30 persons in connection with the violence that erupted on the eve of Hanuman Jayanti celebrations in the city. With this, the total number of arrested has gone up to 79. Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal yesterday visited Sambalpur and took stock of the situation. While more than 45 platoons of police force are engaged in the city and nearby areas, all senior officials are present and supervising the efforts. Internet services continue to be suspended.
