Bengaluru: In a sensational incident, an Odia girl has been shot at by a youth at Munekolal region under Marathahalli PS in Bengaluru today.
The the victim has been identified as Subhashri Priyadarshini (25).
According to reports, a 33-year-old Odia youth, Amarendra Patnaik has allegedly opened fire at the girl in front of a ladies hostel in Munnekolala.
The accused is reportedly working as a software engineer in the city.
Meanwhile, Subhashri has been admitted to a hospital and reportedly out of danger now.
Reports said Amarendra had fired upon Subhashri from a country-made pistol which the police have recovered from a nullah.
Interestingly, police have also recovered the accused Amarendra from a bridge near Marathahalli in a critical condition in the afternoon. He has sustained a deep injury on his neck, police said.
An investigation is going on to find out details leading to the incident, police said.
