Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born Ranjit Rath was selected for the post of chairman and managing director of Oil India Ltd, the second largest oil and gas producer in the country.
Rath (50) was selected the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) to head the company ahead of two directors on the Oil India board and another executive director of the company.
Rath, an alumnus of IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur and Utkal University, is currently the chairman and managing director of Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd (MECL).
Oil India’s current chairman and managing director Sushil Chandra Mishra will retire on June 30, this year.
