Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cabinet led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved 17 proposals belonging to 12 departments in its meeting held yesterday evening. The Cabinet has given its nod to Export Promotion Policy 2022, Odisha Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy, Odisha Logistics Policy 2022, Industrial Policy Resolution 2022, Odisha Tourism Policy 2022, Odisha Civil Aviation Policy 2022 and Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility Policy 2022 among others.
The Odisha Civil Aviation Policy 2022 will further improve air connectivity and create more suitable environment for businesses. The policy applicable for 5 years will unlock untapped potential in the sector and create jobs.
The Odisha Tourism Policy 2022 aims to make tourism and hospitality sector attractive for investors. The policy promotes sustainable and responsible tourism, and focuses on accelerated development of tourism sector.
The Export Promotion Policy 2022 aims to take Odisha to the league of top 5 exporting states of the country and achieve an export target of Rs 3.5 lakh crore by 2026-27. The Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2022 for the next five years aims to transform Odisha into “Industrial Hub of Eastern India” by promoting industries in the thrust and priority sectors of the state.
Along with these, the Cabinet has also approved two major drinking water projects for Ganjam which will provide clean drinking water to more than 3.89 lakh people belonging to Patrapur, Sanakhemundi, Chikiti and Digapahandi blocks. The Cabinet has also approved the three major rural drinking water projects with an outlay of Rs 553 Crore for Sonepur District. This will benefit about 3 lakh 46 thousand people.
