Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the bid of Rs 286.73 crore by M/s LC lnfra Projects Pvt Ltd for constructing a 130 MLD Water Treatment Plant in Bhubaneswar.
The work is scheduled to start by March 2023 with stipulated date of completion as 31 March 2025, the Housing and Urban Development Department said in a press release.
Since the present capacity of the water treatment plants has reached a saturation point, there is a need of improving the treatment capacity to meet the growing demand for drinking water in Bhubaneswar.
In order to address the issue, the Housing and Urban Development department through Water Corporation of Odisha proposed the 130 MLD water treatment plant and its ancillary structures for the improvement of water supply to Bhubaneswar.
This project will help for providing a 24×7 water supply of Drink From Tap quality to all the households of Bhubaneswar up to 2038.
The broad components of the works include as follows:
i) Construction of 130 MLD capacity Intake well at Mundali on river Mahandi.
ii) Construction of 130 MLD capacity WTP at Mundali.
ii) Wash water recycling & sludge treatment unit.
iv) Construction of 30 ML capacity RCC Double Chamber Master Balancing Reservoir (MBR).
v) Construction of 2 nos. 3 ML capacity Elevated Storage Reservoir (ESR).
vi) Installation of 4 nos. of 400 HP capacity VT pump sets with VFD.
vii) Installation of 6 nos. of 350 HP capacity centrifugal pump sets with VFD for pumping of clear water.
viii) Installation of 4 nos. of 250 HP capacity centrifugal pump sets at MBR site.
ix) 1420 mm OD Raw water rising main- 1.5 Km.
x) 1420 mm OD clear water rising main – 19.5 Km
xi) 33 KVA Sub-Station – 3.
xii) Installation of DG sets.
xiii) Installation of incomer indoor type VCB panel of 33 KVA grade – 3.
xiv) Installation of 33 KVA incomer indoor type VCB panel with breaker, feeder, bus coupler,
Battery Bank charger including HT Power cable – 14
xv) Automation and other allied works.
