Bhubaneswar: A seven-member Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) will visit the cyclone Yaas affected areas in Odisha from today.
The team, headed by Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal, arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport on Sunday to make an assessment of damages caused by the disaster.
The team is expected to visit the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Mayurbhanj on Monday and Tuesday, according to reports.
The IMCT will be further divided into two sub-teams. Each unit will visit two districts in the next two days.
The team will hold a meeting with Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Kumar Jena before leaving for New Delhi.
