Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has called for preservation of traditional knowledge systems through effective polices.
On the occasion of World Day for Audiovisual Heritage today, the Chief Minister said that the preservation of traditional knowledge systems, especially documentary heritage through effective polices is key to securing our knowledge and improving public access to it.
“As COVID19 continues to spread across the globe, it poses a great risk to traditional knowledge systems, especially our documentary heritage. Its preservation through effective policies is key to securing our knowledge and improving public access to it”, Naveen wrote on his Twitter post.

The World Day for Audiovisual Heritage is celebrated on October 27 every year. This commemorative day was chosen by UNESCO in 2005 to raise awareness of the significance and preservation risks of recorded sound and audiovisual documents.
