Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today congratulated army officer from Odisha Lt Gen CP Mohanty on being appointed as commander of the Southern Command.
The Chief Minister took to Twitter to convey his best wishes to Lt Gen Mohanty for the new responsibility.

Lt Gen Mohanty, who has operational experience along the borders with Pakistan and China, succeeds Lt Gen SK Saini who will take charge as new vice chief of the Army on Saturday.
Lt Gen Mohanty led a multinational UN brigade in Congo. At present, he is serving as General Officer Commanding of Uttar Bharat area.
