Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Friday said that applications for Ex Gratia assistance by the kin of people died due to Covid in the state can be submitted by the 28th of May 2022.
According to a statement issued today, the kin and relatives of those persons who died due to Covid before 20th March 2022 can apply for the financial assistance with proper documents in the next 60 days period. The applications can be submitted physically at the Collector’s Office or online through https://caps.odisha.gov.in. The Government of Odisha has announced an Ex Gratia of Rs 50,000 to the kin of the people who died due to Covid in the state. The assistance will be provided from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
Those who died of Covid after March 20th , 2022 or who may die after that, their kin and relatives can apply for Ex Gratia within 90 days of the death at the Collectors office or Online. If the kin or relatives face any problem in applying for the benefits as directed by the Supreme Court of India, they can approach and apply at the Grievance Redressal Committee set up in the districts. The Grievance Redressal Committees will look into the applications thoroughly and take appropriate action. There is a provision to pay the Ex Gratia to the kin of the people who died due to Covid within thirty days of the application.
According the Special Relief Commissioner, if required, citizens can contact the toll free Helpline number 15535 and take the help in applying the Ex Gratia.
