Bhubaneswar: The drinking water problems in Athagarh, Narsinghpur, Pipili and Athmallik blocks will be resolved soon.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Saturday held a high level review meeting regarding early solutions to the drinking water related problems in these blocks.
The meeting was attended by 5T Secretary VK Pandian, Panchayatiraj and Drinking Water Department Principal Secretary Sushil Kumar Lohani and other senior officials.
In the meeting, it was decided to solve the drinking water related problems of Athagarh, Narsinghpur, Pipili and Athmallik blocks immediately. Emphasis was placed on proper monitoring of all pipeline water supply projects under construction in Narsinghpur and Athmallik along with maintaining high standards of projects and timely completion of projects.
Similarly, it was decided to take urgent steps to resolve the various problems in the ongoing piped water supply projects in Pipili. Security measures were ordered to be tightened to prevent illegal theft of water, especially upstream of the projects.
SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) will be implemented to detect and solve the problems immediately in the rural piped water supply schemes implemented across the state. It has been decided to provide more staff to speed up the projects as well as to continue power supply to all the projects.
