Bhubaneswar: Odisha has emerged as second leading State in eradicating Tuberculosis (TB) with timely diagnosis, quality treatment and awareness drives, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.
On the occasion of World TB Day, the Chief Minister has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continue the accelerated action to end Tuberculosis suffering and deaths in the State.
In a Twitter post, Naveen said that Tuberculosis is a curable disease and Odisha has emerged as second leading state in eradicating Tuberculosis with timely diagnosis, quality treatment and awareness drives.
“On World TB Day, reaffirm commitment to continue the accelerated action to #endTB suffering and deaths”, he said.

Odisha has been ranked second in the country for its efforts towards elimination of tuberculosis in the State.
The State government has undertaken several measures for increasing TB case notification, improving diagnostics and testing facilities, providing treatment support to patients and family as well as providing nutritional support and financial incentive.
