Bhubaneswar: Odisha has emerged as the number one state in the country in fiscal management, as per a latest report.
Odisha has topped among large states in fiscal management, according to the CareEdge States’ Ranking report.
Better score on revenue and fiscal deficit and healthy debt management indicators (Consolidated Sinking Fund & Guarantee Redemption Fund) translated into Odisha topping the ranking in the fiscal category.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the State Finance Department for the achievement.
“Congratulations Finance Department as Odisha has topped among large states in fiscal management, as per the CareEdge States’ Ranking report. Odisha scored high on revenue and fiscal deficit & healthy debt management indicators (CSF & GRF) which helped the state top the list”, the CMO tweeted.

CareEdge has released the first edition of The States’ Ranking. The report provides a comprehensive quantitative evaluation of states’ performance.
The rankings are based on seven pillars – economic, fiscal, social, infrastructure, financial inclusion, environment, and governance – and covers 46 indicators to rank the major states in the country. Union Territories are excluded from the study.
