Odisha: Forest Dept to Intensify Combing Operations in Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Forest Department will intensify combing operations in Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary in Balasore district to tackle poaching activities.

In the wake of attack by poachers to two forest officials, the Department has decided to intensify the combing operations in the sanctuary.

A joint team comprising Special Tiger Protection Force and Ex-Army personnel will intensify combing operation in Kuldiha wildlife sanctuary, informed Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Susanta Nanda.

The PCCF also urged the poachers to surrender arms.

“On 19.03.2024 at about 02.00 AM, staff of Kuldiha Range, Balasore Division came across two poachers inside Kuldiha Sanctuary. They have been arrested. Two staff were injured when fired upon”, the PCCF informed earlier.
