Bhubaneswar: The gazette notification for the by-election to the Assembly constituency of Pipili in Puri district has been issued by the State Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha on Tuesday.
The by-election will be held on April 17. The ECI has set the timing for polling of votes from 7 am to 6 pm.
The last date for filing nominations is March 30 while the papers will be scrutinised on March 31.
Applicants can withdraw their candidatures by April 3.
The results will be declared on May 2, the notification said.
Notably, the Pipili Assembly seat has been lying vacant since October 4 last year following the death of 7-time BJD MLA Pradeep Maharathy.
