Bhubaneswar: In line with its commitment to provide pucca houses to all the houseless and those staying in Kutcha houses in rural area, the Odisha Government has built as many as 26,84,818 pucca houses since 2014-15 financial year to till date, informed State Panchayati Raj Minister Pratap Jena here today.
Even though COVID-19 pandemic has hit almost all sectors, the State Government has built 1,14,644 pucca houses in the current financial year, almost double the number compared to the previous financial year, he said.
The government has provided Rs 828 crore as incentives to 5,91,000 beneficiaries for completing the construction of house in time under the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana.
The beneficiaries who complete the construction in four months receive an additional incentive of Rs 20,000, and Rs 10,000 for those completing in six months.
