Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government is expecting to garner excise revenue worth Rs 4600 crore from sale of alcoholic beverages in the current fiscal.
This has been informed by Odisha Excise Minister Niranjan Pujari in the Assembly on Monday.
The State Government had collected Rs 3925 crore towards excise revenue in financial year 2018-19 and it has set a target of Rs 4600 crore in this fiscal ending March 2020, the Minister told the House.
In the previous fiscal, the State government had set the target of Rs 3800 crore excise revenue.
The government has collected Rs 970.50 crore by this June end, as per reports.
