Bhubaneswar: India’s first K-pop artist Sriya Lenka was felicitated by the Odisha Government here on Sunday.
On behalf of the State Government, former Indian Hockey Captain and OHPC Chairman Dilip Tirkey has felicitated the K-pop artist at the Kalinga Stadium this morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Tirkey said, “Odisha is a land of immense talent and India’s first K-Pop artist Sriya, is a testament to the vast young talent pool of artists nurtured across the State. Her noteworthy achievement has put Sundargarh on the world map that will further encourage our youth to stride forward in pursuit of their dreams”.
The K-pop artist, who also hails from Rourkela, has made Odisha and the country proud with her achievements, said the Sports and Youth Services Department said.
Recently, the 18-year-old Lenka has been named as a new member of South Korean group Blackswan.
She has become the first Indian artist to join a K-pop group.
