CM Urges All to Follow COVID-19 Guidelines
Bhubanrswar: The Odisha Government is fully prepared to organize the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in the pilgrim city of Puri as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday.
Chairing a state level meeting to review the preparations for the festival through video conferencing, Naveen said the world is going through a difficult time due to COVID-19 and organizing Rath Yatra would be a challenge.
“We have to be very careful while organizing all the rituals from Rath Yatra to Niladri Bije”, he said.
He hoped that all will follow the Covid-19 guidelines.
The CM thanked all the servitors for their cooperation and hard work as the rituals are going on as per schedule and construction of three chariots has also been completed.
He also directed Minister law, Minister health, Minister school and mass education and Deputy Chairman planning board to camp at Puri till Niladri Bije and supervise Ratha yatra.
The meeting was attended by Law Minister Pratap Jena, Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, DGP Abhay, Puri Collector Balwant Singh, SJTA Chief Administrator Dr Krishan Kumar and other senior officials.
