Bhubaneswar: In the wake of increasing Covid-19 cases, the Odisha Government today announced imposition of night curfew in 10 districts from April 5 night between 10.00 pm to 5.00 am.
In a press release, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) said that for the interest of general public and to prevent transmission of infection, night curfew shall be in force from April 5 in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts till further orders.
Following guidelines have been issued for the night curfew; all shops, commercial establishments, offices, institutions and movement of individuals shall remain closed/ prohibited between 10.00 pm to 5.00 am, except for essential activities.
District Collectors/ Municipal Commissioners shall issue orders for their respective jurisdictions, under appropriate provisions of law, such as under Section 144 of CrPC, and ensure strict compliance.
District Collector may impose any further restrictions or allow such activities as felt appropriate considering the local situation.
