Odisha Govt Invites Marubeni Itochu Steel to Increase Footprint in State

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has invited Japanese company Marubeni Itochu Steel Inc (MISI) to increase their footprint in Odisha considering the vast potential of the State in steel-making.

The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led high level delegation, which has arrived in Japan to garner investments for the State, has held discussion with the MISI representatives about the business opportunities in Odisha.

Minister of Industries Pratap Kesari Deb has highlighted the key growth drivers of Odisha and the vast emerging opportunities in metal and metal downstream sector.
Deb also highlighted the transfer of cutting-edge technology from Japan to make Odisha the leading destination for steel manufacturing in the world. This is a significant development for the state.

The Odisha delegation includes the Minister of Industries, MSME, and Energy, the Chief Secretary to the Government of Odisha, Principal Secretary, Industries Department, Principal Secretary, E&IT Department, Secretary to CM, Secretary, Sports and Youth Services, and Managing Director, IPICOL. A business delegation from Odisha, consisting of leading industrialists from the Steel, Aluminium, Textiles, Food and Sea-Food processing, and Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia sectors, has also joined the Government of Odisha delegation to explore opportunities for collaboration with Japanese investors.
