Puri: In order to ensure smooth conduct of the world famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri, the Odisha Government has made elaborate security arrangements in the pilgrim city.
Talking about it, Additional Director General (Law and Order), R.K. Sharma said that 65 platoons of force along with senior officers have been deployed to look after the security arrangements for the annual festival in the pilgrim city.
The entire Puri town has been divided into 12 zones of which there will be four zones between Jagannath Temple and Gundicha Temple.
All preparations for the festival have been made. Arrangement from police administration has also been done, Sharma said.
He further said that a detailed plan to ensure foolproof security has been chalked out.
A map for the deployment of the force has been prepared under the supervision of the Puri SP and IG, Central Range, he informed the media after high level review meeting.
Like the previous year, the revered festival of the Trinity will be held without the participation of devotees in view of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
All entry points of the district will be sealed to restrict the movement of people to Puri.
