Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure transparency in disbursement of pension to beneficiaries of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and Madhu Babu Pension Yojana, the Odisha Government is considering to introduce DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mode for payment of pensions to the beneficiaries under the schemes.
The Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department has asked the Collectors of all districts to collect bank and Aadhaar card details of the beneficiaries entitled to receive pension, according to media reports.
The disbursal of pension will be made in urban and rural areas from November and December respectively.
SSEPD wrote a letter issued to the District Collectors stating that the beneficiaries should bring bank passbooks and Aadhaar details when they will come to the office to receive their pension.
