Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has provided financial assistance worth Rs 47 crore to 8608 women self-help groups of Mission Shakti to support their livelihood and income security during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
“So far, 8608 Mission Shakti SHGs have been provided with financial assistance amounting to Rs 47 crore to meet their financial needs during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. This critical support has been of paramount importance in ensuring sustainability of livelihood and income security of women”, the Mission Shakti Department informed.
All the 338 Block Level Federations (BLFs) have been supported with financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh each as revolving fund for financing SHGs for income enhancement, livelihood activities, immediate needs and bridging the gap of additional fund requirement by the SHGs.
The BLFs at ICDS project level act as the grassroots support system for the members of SHGs, the Mission Shakti Department said.
