Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerate the development of Kotia gram Panchayat in Koraput district.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has always emphasized on the all-round development of Kotia gram Panchayat.
The Chief Minister had announced a special package worth more than Rs 100 core for the overall development of Kotia GP with focus on livelihood projects apart from development of infrastructure like roads, bridges, schools and hospitals in the area Under the package, the work on construction of new roads, electrification and livelihood projects are underway in the GP. Police station, health and wellness center and model schools have become operational.
On the orders of the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary and the Additional Chief Secretary and officials of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department have visited Kotia to review the progress of the ongoing development projects in the gram Panchayat.
Besides, the officials of the district administration are regularly inspecting and reviewing the State Government’s various projects and public welfare schemes being implemented in Kotia.
This year, 2022-23, Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya has enrolled 54 students in Kotia and free bus services have been launched to facilitate their transportation.
In order to further accelerate the development of Kotia, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the officials to identify several new projects and implement them.
Accordingly, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner on July 16.
At the review meeting, several development projects worth more than Rs 50 crore have been selected to accelerate the development of Kotia.
The projects include construction of new roads from Doliamba to Naringipadar and from Kotia to Deomali via Katraguda; improvement of roads from Madkar to Fatusineri, Pattangi to Neredibalsa, Kotia to Tadibals from Kurudipad to Galigabad, expansion of strawberry farming, promotion of Kotia broom trade and goat farming, electricity improvement, construction of 690 homes under Biju Pacca Ghar Yojana, drinking water facility, irrigation and construction of helipad in Kotia among others.
