Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to set up four common facilitation centres (CFCs) to promote bamboo craft and boost skills of traditional artisans of the State.
The Department of Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts (HTH) will set up the CFCs across the districts of Deogarh, Sambalpur, Boudh and Koraput with support of Odisha Bamboo Development Mission (OBDM) under the Forest Department.
The CFCs will play a key role for the promotion of bamboo craft and enhance skills of traditional artisans.
The facilitation centres will provide necessary equipment for processing raw bamboo, technical know-how and training and raw material for bamboo cultivators and artisans under one roof. The CFCs will also create market link for the selling of the processed products of the artisans.
