Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has decided to set up a memorial in Bhubaneswar in memory of Covid warriors who have laid down their life in fight against COVID-19.
Patnaik also spoke to the family members of the Covid warriors through video conferencing.
” The State always remember the sacifices made by the Covid warriors. Year 2020 was a difficult year and had poised biggest challenge due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The immense courage exhibited by the
Covid warriors to tackle the pandemic will be long remembered, Patnaik added.
A memorial will be erected in Bhubaneswar and names of all Covid warriors who lost their lives will be inscribed on it,” said the CM.
Patnaik also expressed grief over the death of more than 100 covid worriors.
Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, P K Mohapatra said that as many as 101 Covid warriors have lost their life so far.
Mohapatra said that families of 96 deceased have already received the financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh as announced by the Chief Minister and remaining five families will receive the assistance in next two days, Mohapatra added
