Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has urged the district Collectors to start the online registration process for paddy procurement for the upcoming Kharif marketing season 2020-21.
A notification in this regard has been issued by the Food, Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department Secretary, Vir Vikram Yadav.
The Collectors of all districts have been directed to initiate farmers’ registration process to ensure procurement of kharif crop for the upcoming kharif marketing season 2020-21.
Online registration is mandatory for the farmers in their nearest PACS, LAMPCS, WSHG and Pani Panchayats to sell their Kharif and Rabi season’s paddy harvest, the notification said.
Procurement process will start from the first week of November and continue till March 31, 2021 during which farmers can sell their 2019-20 Kharif harvest and 2019 Rabi harvest.
It is a mandatory process which requires every farmer who is willing to deliver surplus paddy at MSP to government to register with the nearest authorized societies, it added.
