Odisha Health Department Advises Against Taking Influenza Medicines Without Doctors’ Prescription

Bhubaneswar: With the number of cases affected with influenza like flu increasing, the Odisha Health Department has asked people not to take medicines on their own and consult doctors and take medicines with prescription. With the fear of H3N2 people are taking antibiotics and medicines on their own.

Health Director Bijay Mahapatra has said that people should observe precautions and keep social norms as like Covid. As the symptoms of Covid and H3N2 are alike, all should self-isolate if they have any symptoms. The health department has advised not to take medicines randomly. In addition, it is advised not to take antibiotics without consultation. The Health Director also said that surveillance will be increased if the symptoms are increasing in the state.
