Bhubaneswar: The State Health and Family Welfare Department has come up with a detailed plan for the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in the pilgrim city of Puri scheduled to be held on July 1.
The Health Department said that it would deploy as many as 145 doctors, 40 pharmacists, 45 health officer, 30 nursing officer and over 121 other health workers and attendants during the festival, said State Health Services Director Dr. Bijay Mohapatra.
He said that as many as 69 first-aid centres will be set up in Puri.
While the government will use 58 ambulances, seven food inspectors will keep an eye on the quality of food sold in the eateries during the festival, he added.
Earlier, the Health Services Director informed that wearing masks was made mandatory for devotees coming to witness the annual festival.
The Rath Yatra this time will see the participation of devotees after the gap of two years.
Around 10 lakh people are expected to gather in the pilgrim city for the annual festival.
