Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to lash several districts in Odisha from tomorrow, informed the IMD’s Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar on Monday.
A fresh cyclonic circulation is very likely to form over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal on Monday resulting in the formation of a low-pressure area over the same region in the next 24 hours. Heavy rain is likely to lash several areas of Odisha for four days from July 25 under the influence of the low pressure.
“A cyclonic circulation is active in the atmosphere of the west central system-contiguous northwestern Bay of Bengal, between 5.8 and 7.6 km above sea level. In effect, a low-pressure field is likely to form in the same area during the next 24 hours,” the metrological centre said.
Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Bolangir, it added.
