Odisha: Heavy Rainfall Likely to Occur at Many Places from July 5

Bhubaneswar: Several places in Odisha will experience heavy rainfall from July 5, informed the IMD’s Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar on Monday.

Southwest monsoon has been subdued over the State. The cyclonic circulation over central parts of Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean sea level, the regional metrological centre said while issuing yellow alert of heavy rain over several districts in the State from July 5 to 7.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Kalahandi on July 5, the latest bulletin of the IMD stated.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Boudh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh on July 7, it added.
