Sambalpur: The Hirakud Dam authorities will discharge season’s first flood waters on July 18.
The water will be released at around 11 am on Monday, as per reports.
The decision has been taken due to the heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas and an increase in the water level of Hirakud Dam.
The inflow of water into the Hirakud Dam Reservoir (HDR) went up to 2, 18,000 cusecs.
The water level stood at 607.91 feet by 9am this morning.
