Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has allowed reopening of hostels for students of Class 12 and 12 from July 26 for the Academic Session 2021-22.
The School and Mass Education Department has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the opening of hostels.
As per the SOP, the head of the institute/hostel should ensure that students are kept at appropriate distance and staggered manner.
The common area In the hostel like mess and toilet is maintained and sanitized properly with regular interval. Sufficient quantity of soap, hand sanitizer must be made available by the Institutes for use of the residents.
An isolation room will be kept in the hostel for emergency use, the SOP says.
The head of the institute has also been urged to remain in touch with the local health institute to ensure periodic health check of the inmates. The inmates will not be allowed to congregate at a given place inside the hostel, the SOP stated.
