Bhubaneswar: Amid the spike in coronavirus cases in State, the legislators and staffers of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will undergo COVID-19 tests before start of the Monson Session of the Assembly.
Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro chaired a meeting to discuss the modalities and safety protocols for the MLAs and staffers ahead of the upcoming Session.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha and Health Minister Naba Kishore Das attended the meeting.
RT-PCR tests of MLAs will be conducted before the Assembly Session and legislators with negative report will be allowed to take part in the proceedings.
The forthcoming Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is likely to be held in the third or fourth week of this month.
