Bhubaneswar: The maiden direct flight from Dubai to Bhubaneswar is welcomed at Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Monday with customary water cannons.
Direct connectivity with Dubai, which is one of the biggest aviation hubs, will open up a direct gateway to the world for the people of Odisha.
The inaugural flight is fully sponsored by the Odisha Government. Direct flight service by IndiGo to Dubai, one of the biggest travel hubs, will open the world for the people of Odisha, giving a boost to investment, trade and tourism.
Odisha is the first state in India to support international air connectivity in the interest of people.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the direct flight service between Bhubaneswar and Dubai today.
