Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha is expected to come up with unlock guidelines today for districts that are in the green and yellow zones. As the infection rate gradually decreasing in many districts and the Test Positivity Rate is also continuously declining, it is expected that the government may give some relaxations in lockdown.
The situation in Odisha has drastically changed and only four districts are in the red zone having more than 2500 active cases till 16th June, i.e., Cuttack, Khordha, Jajpur and Balasore. While twelve districts are in the yellow zone with less than 2500 cases but more than thousand case, fourteen districts are in the safe green zone having less than thousand active case.
It is expected that the government may take a decision for phased unlock in the green zone and yellow zone districts. The districts in the red zone are expected to continue with the lockdown currently imposed. Weekend shutdowns may continue in the state for another four weeks. In terms of Test Positivity Rate also, Odisha is reporting a continuous decline. Fourteen districts of the state have reported TPR at less than five percent. As Jajpur and Khordha are having TPR of more than ten percent, the government may not give any kind of relaxation in these districts. Districts from the western Odisha such as Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Sambalpur, Sundargarh along with Ganjam, Kandhamal, Koraput, Rayagada in southern Odisha may see some relaxation in the lockdown.
