Odisha Mo Parivar Does it Again, Cremates Destitute With Honour in Berhampur

Berhampur: Continuing its social service amid the prevailing Coronavirus pandemic as instructed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Odisha Mo-Parivar yet again came to the rescue of an abandoned soul in Berhampur.

Led by Berhampur MLA Bikram Kumar Panda, the Mo-Parivar team helped cremation of a 70-year lady.

The Odisha Mo-Parivar, which is the social service wing of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), arranged all the required materials and completed all the cremation as per the Hindu systems at Neelakantheswar burial ground of late Dr.Saraswati Achary, resident of Balajipentho street, Berhampur.

As per reports, Dr. Achary died because of multiple diseases. Her body was not touched by locals due to corona scare.

On getting information about it, Bikram Panda, MLA, who is also one of the general secretaries of Odisha Mo-Parivar, immediately rushed to the spot along with his team and helped to conduct the last rites of the lady.

Odisha Mo Parivar members have been at the forefront during this pandemic period, helping the needy with financial support, food, shelter and blood donation. Recently, members of Mo Parivar helped thousands of migrant laborers with food, grocery, shelter, and transport facilities to reach their homes safely. A number of Blood Donation camps are also being organised to collect blood for the medicals which are running short due to the pandemic.
