The BJD is heading towards a massive victory in eight districts in the western Odisha.
In the 2017 Panchayat elections, the BJP had dominated the Zilla Parishads in six districts, such as Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Subarnapur and Deograh. The BJD had to satisfy with Boudh and Nuapada. The Congress had shown good performance in Jharasuguda.
The political scenario has been completely changed in the 2022 Panchayat elections. While, the BJD had made a resounding comeback, the BJP bite the dust in the first day of counting.
