Bhubaneswar: The Odisha police have rescued 894 missing children in eight days between January 18 to 25.
The children were rescued from different districts by the police department through its special drive to trace the missing children, according to reports.
The State police had started the drive to trace the children based on 834 missing complaints lodged at various police stations.
Out of the 894 rescued children, 800 were girls and rest 94 were boys.
As many as 127 children were rescued by Kendrapara district police. Similarly, Mayurbhanj and Balasore police rescued 111 and 88 children, respectively.
Odisha DGP Abhay lauded the good work headed by SPs of respective districts.
