Odisha: Railways to Run 205 Special Trains during Rath Yatra

Puri: The Indian Railways will run around 205 special trains during the annual Rath Yatra to be held in the Odisha’s pilgrim city of Puri.

This has been informed by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during his visit to Puri on Tuesday.

Vaishnaw said that the project for the redevelopment of Puri railway station into a world-class transit hub will be completed in the next two years.

The projects worth Rs 364 crore will be completed in Puri in the next two years, the Minister said.

He further said that the Railways has plans to build a world-class station with a large Jatri Niwas. It will be designed in a way which will have the ability to withstand windspeed up to 200-300kmph.
