Odisha Receives 783 MM Rainfall This Monsoon Against Normal Value of 914 MM

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has received 783.3 mm rainfall from 1st June till 31st August indicating less than normal monsoon across many districts. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, seasonal cumulative rainfall, realized from 1st June to 31st August 2023 is 783.3 mm against its normal value of 914.5 mm. During the said period, 11 districts recorded deficient, 1 excess and the rest 18 districts recorded normal rainfall. While Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Jajpur districts have recorded deficient rainfall, Boudh is the only district to record excess rainfall during this monsoon. Likewise, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Bargarh, Anugul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Deogarh districts have received normal rains.
