Bhubaneswar: With exemplary initiatives undertaken by the State Government, Odisha has been recognized as Top Performer in developing a strong startup ecosystem, according to the ranking by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
The Odisha Government has taken several exemplary initiatives for empowering entrepreneurs in the State, including building a robust State startup portal functioning in two different languages, launching the Odisha Startup Growth Fund (OSGF), a funds-of-funds model for startups with a budget allocation of Rs 100 crore and developing holistic polices and schemes to develop entrepreneurs among SC/ST, differently-abled persons and women.
The DPIIT has recognized the efforts of Odisha as Top Performer for instituting inclusive and holistic policies and schemes to develop entrepreneurs across every corner of the State.
The State has been recognized as a capacity building pioneer and a procurement forerunner.
The States’ Startup Ranking 2021 was released by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday.
A total of 24 states and 7 Union territories (UTs) participated in the exercise, which ranked them under five categories — best performers, top performers, leaders, aspiring leaders and emerging startup ecosystems.
The rankings are based on the initiatives taken to develop the startup ecosystem for promoting budding entrepreneurs.
