Bhubaneswar: An average 71 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the third phase of Panchayat elections in Odisha on Sunday.
This has been informed by State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi.
The polling began at 7 a.m. and ended at 1 p.m.
Barring a few booths of Jajpur district, polling was smooth in the state.
The third phase voting was held at 18,495 booths in 1,382 Gram Panchayats under 63 blocks of 29 districts. As many as 679 candidates were in fray for the 171 Zilla Parishad seats.
