Bhubaneswar: A 33 year youth who has a travel history to Italy has been found positive for Covid-19.
Odisha Government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19, Subroto Bagchi conformed the information and said the identified person had returned to Odisha by train from New Delhi.
The patient has been admitted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Dr. CBK Mohanty, Director, Health & Education Training, Odisha has also confirmed the case.
The affected youth had returned from Italy to Delhi on March 6th and was under self-quarantine there. In order to avoid scrutiny, he boarded a train to Bhubaneswar on March 12th and arrived here on the 13th. As the persons health deteriorated, he consulted the Capital Hospital where he was put to isolation. His samples were tested and found to be positive at the RMRC.
Meanwhile, the government has started collecting information on the contacts the youth made. The family members of the infected person has also been asked to remain in isolation.
