Bhubaneswar: With continues efforts for providing quality healthcare services at all levels, Odisha has reported the ‘highest point decline in the country in Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) with 39 points from 2005 to 2020.
At the Mo Sarkar review meeting, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed the officials about this achievement of Odisha in the healthcare sector.
Odisha’s IMR now stands at 36/1000 live birth. The State has succeeded in reducing the infant mortality rate by 39 points. This success was achieved between 2005 and 2020. It is the lowest rate in the country during the period.
The Chief Minister has congratulated Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Welfare, Mission Shakti Departments and Team Odisha for the achievement.
