Bhubaneswar: A retired executive engineer and his wife have been sentenced to imprisonment in a disproportionate assets case.
Simadri Nayak, retired executive engineer of RW Division, Umarkote in Nabarangpur district and his wife Laxmi Nayak, who were charge sheeted by the Special Vigilance Court, Bhubaneswar for possessing disproportionate assets, were convicted by the Court.
The Court sentenced Simadri Nayak to 3 years jail and fine of Rs.10,00,000/, and
Laxmi Nayak to 1 year jail and fine of Rs.2,00,000.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of the retired engineer following his conviction.
