Bhubaneswar: The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, Government of Odisha, has felicitated six districts for achieving the target of construction of rural housing by Diwali of the 2023-24 financial year.
The districts are Ganjam, Dhenkanal, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Deogarh and Jajpur.
Sushil Kumar Lohani, Principal Secretary of Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, has awarded the districts at the State-level Conference of CDO-cum-EOs and BDOs held at Convention Hall, Lokseva Bhawan here on Saturday.
Due to prompt action and expertise of the administrations of these districts, the beneficiaries were able to complete the house construction work on time and enter their dream house on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the Panchayati Raj Department said.
CDO-cum-EOs of all 30 districts and BDOs of all 314 blocks, Directors and senior officials of the department have attended the conference.
Progress of various developmental schemes implemented by PR&DW Department was reviewed at the meeting.
