Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s appeal to show solidarity to the Covid Warriors by singing the State anthem of Odisha Bande Utkala Janani has been well received by people belonging to all walks of life. From common man to political leaders all are readying to cheer up the Covid Warriors today evening at 5.30 pm. While the Biju Janata Dal has decided to organise a special program at its party headquarters in Bhubaneswar to sing the State Anthem, party workers from across the state will take part from their respective places.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has also welcomed the appeal by Chief Minister and asked all members to stand united at this time of crisis to show solidarity with the Covid Warriors. Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi have also appealed all to sing Bande Utkal Janani to encourage the Covid Warriors. Pradesh Congress President Niranjan Patnaik has also supported the CMs appeal and called all members of the party to be united and sing Bande Utkala Janai.
Coming on board, the East Coast Railway has also decided to play the State Anthem in all its railway stations in Odisha. According to the East Coast Railway, steps have been taken to play “Bande Utkala Janani”, the state anthem of Odisha, at all its establishments in geographical jurisdiction of Odisha on 30th May, 2020 at 5.30 pm, where Public Announcement System is available. This state anthem will be played at important railway stations, railway establishments as well as in railway colonies as a mark of solidarity with and support to COVID warriors.
District administrations have made elaborate arrangements in all offices to sing Bande Utkala Janani. Schools, Colleges and all other educational institutions wherever possible, the State Anthem will be sung.
Following the Chief Minister’s appeal, the State Police Department has also made elaborate arrangements to support the cause by standing united at this hour of crisis. The main function will be held in Police Seva Bhawan at 5:30 PM. Odisha police is also going to organise separate programs in all districts headquarters and OSAP and IRBN Battalions.
The Department of Sports and Youth Services has also made arrangements for a grand thanks giving at the Kalinga Stadium. Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera, Secretary Sports Vishal K Dev, Director Sports R. Vineel Krishna and officials from the Department of Sports and Youth Services, distinguished sportspersons of Odisha, Ollywood Cine Stars and athletes will congregate at the Kalinga Stadium to unite in solidarity in the fight against COVID-19 and sing “Bande Utkala Janani” to honour the Covid warriors.
