Odisha Tableau to Showcase Women Empowerment and Rich Cultural Heritage And Craftsmanship of Raghurajpur

New Delhi: One of the major attractions at the Republic Day Celebrations in the National Capital Delhi is going to be Odisha’s Tableau that will showcase women empowerment and the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of crafts village Raghurajpur. The Tableau, with intricate designs, participated in the final dress rehearsals of the Republic Day Parade on the Kartavyapath yesterday. The Tableau was prepared under the supervision of the Odisha Information and Public Relations Department at the Rashtriya Rangshala Camp.

This will be after a gap of three years that Odisha’s Cultural Tableau will roll on the Kartabya Path on the occasion of the Republic Day. As Republic Day celebrations this year are primarily based on women empowerment, Odisha’s Tableau also showcases the message of economic development and rural women empowerment through the state’s rich arts such as Raghurajpur Pattachitra, handicrafts and cottage industries. The 45-feet-long, 14-feet-wide and 16-feet-high Tableau has received wide appreciation from the public who witnessed it yesterday during the Final Rehearsals.

On the Tableau, women artisans of Odisha showcased the making of Chandua and Pattachitra on one side and women performers of Lakhya Kalavikas Kendra of Gopalpur in Balasore district performed Sambalpuri dance. As many as 26 Tableaus from 16 states and nine ministries are participating in this year’s Republic Day Parade.
